Baan Mangkon · Est. 2018
Built Around the Belief That Understanding Changes Everything
We created Baan Mangkon because too many adults over 40 in Thailand were navigating major financial decisions without the knowledge or support they deserved.

A Different Kind of Financial Centre
Baan Mangkon was founded in 2018 by a small team of financial educators and community facilitators who noticed a gap in Bangkok: plenty of investment services, very few places focused purely on education and understanding.
The name itself reflects our philosophy — "baan" (บ้าน) meaning home, and "mangkon" (มังกร) meaning dragon, a symbol of wisdom and protective strength in Thai culture. We wanted to create a space that felt like a home for thoughtful, unhurried financial learning.
Our programs are built around adults over 40, because this is often when financial complexity increases — retirement planning, multi-generational households, accumulated debt, and the very real threat of financial scams targeting older adults. We bring clarity to those conversations without judgment.
Our Mission
Steady Knowledge. Calm Decisions.
We believe that when people truly understand their financial situation, they make better decisions — not because they were told what to do, but because they had the space and tools to think it through.
Our mission is to provide that space: structured, evidence-informed workshops delivered by experienced facilitators in an environment that respects every participant's intelligence and personal circumstances.

How We Work
Our Standards and Principles
Participant Confidentiality
Personal financial situations shared in our sessions remain strictly within the group. Facilitators operate under a clear confidentiality framework.
Evidence-Informed Content
All programme materials are grounded in established financial education research and updated regularly to reflect current Thai financial regulations and scam patterns.
Non-Judgemental Approach
Financial shame is a real barrier. Our facilitators are trained to create environments where participants feel safe to examine their situations honestly.
Data Protection
We collect only what is necessary for programme administration and do not share personal data with third parties. Compliant with PDPA Thailand.
Certified Facilitators
Our team holds qualifications in adult education and financial counselling. Professional development is ongoing and reviewed annually.
Ongoing Participant Feedback
Each programme ends with a structured feedback process. We use participant responses to refine and improve every subsequent cohort.
Grounded in Bangkok, Shaped by Community
Baan Mangkon operates from the heart of Yaowarat — a neighbourhood long associated with commerce, community, and generational wisdom. We draw on that spirit in everything we do: our programmes are designed with depth, delivered with care, and built to reflect the specific financial realities of life in Thailand.
Adults over 40 face a distinct set of financial challenges. Retirement timelines are shorter. Family obligations often span multiple generations. The sophistication of financial scams has increased significantly, with older adults frequently targeted. We address all of this through structured workshops that prioritise participant understanding over product promotion.
We have no affiliation with banks, insurance companies, or investment platforms. Our income comes entirely from programme fees, which means our only interest is in providing you with clear, unbiased financial education.
